Summary
The Regional Anaesthesia Guide does not collect, store or send any information about patients. It never asks for patient identifiers. What you enter for a block stays in your browser tab and disappears when you clear it, close the tab or reload the page.
Who we are
The Regional Anaesthesia Guide is provided by West Midlands Evidence Based Emergency Medicine Ltd (trading as EM Evidence), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16644703. Contact: hello@emevidence.org.
What the app does with your information
- Checklist and note content: the answers you enter (checklist ticks, doses, procedure details and staff names) are held in memory only, to build the note on screen. They are never saved to the device, sent to us or sent to anyone else. Copying a note puts it on your device's clipboard, which you control.
- Patient details: please don't enter any. The app warns you if free text looks like it contains an NHS number, phone number, postcode, email address, or a name with a title, a date or a hospital number, but it cannot catch everything.
- Preferences: your light/dark choice, your chosen Trust and, only if you tick "Remember my name and designation", your own name and designation are kept in your browser's local storage on this device. None of these contain patient information. You can clear them by clearing the site's data in your browser.
- Offline use: the app's own files (pages, styles, scripts and icons) are cached by your browser so it works without a signal. No personal data is cached.
- No analytics, adverts, cookies, accounts or tracking.
Hosting
The app is hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, processes standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. The EM Evidence logo is loaded from GitHub. Neither receives anything you type into the app.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data from the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can contact us with any questions, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Clinical use
The Regional Anaesthesia Guide is an educational aid. It does not make clinical decisions, and it does not replace your training, supervision, professional judgement, or your Trust's LocSSIPs, policies and record-keeping requirements. Where a Trust LocSSIP is shown, the Trust's own current document and paper checklist remain the official version. Check every note before you file it.
